Manual Brake Master Cylinder Bore

broken image

They have a 1' bore and are suited for disc/drum combinations. Each master cylinder is ported on both the left and right sides, allowing for installation in many different applications. This exclusive design features a mating flange that works with applications requiring 3-1/8' through 3-3/8' bolt patterns. The amount of fluid that a drum brake master has to move is less than disc brake. Drum brake masters have 10 lb residual valves at the outlet to keep a residual pressure on the drums. If you use a drum brake master for disc brakes you would move an insufficient volume of fluid and the disc brakes would drag because of the residual valves. Notes

  1. Tech Tip: The bigger the master cylinder is, the more fluid you get, but you'll have less pressure at the caliper.
  2. There is no longer a loop on the end of the push rod for this master cylinder. It is now threaded 3/8'-24 (fine) male. If you need a yoke for pedal hook-up, use 910-02973.
